Do Kohler Faucets Have A Lifetime Warranty?
Many of the industry’s leading brands offer outstanding warranties that further prove the quality of their products, and Kohler faucets are no exception. While warranty provisions vary depending on the setup, Kohler offers some of the best faucet warranties in the industry. If you’re interested in a Kohler faucet warranty, whether you’re considering a purchase or already own one, you’ve come to the right place. Read on to find out more!
What Is The Kohler Faucets Warranty?
Kohler faucets, including kitchen and bathroom units, come with a limited lifetime warranty to protect their components. The company ensures that all taps manufactured after 1 January 1997 will be free from leaks and drips during everyday residential use. They are guaranteed for life for as long as the original consumer purchaser owns the home.
If the faucet leaks or drips, in this case, Kohler will send the customer a brand new faucet cartridge free of charge. Often, the cartridge is the culprit of the leak, although this is not always the case. However, it is important to note that this warranty only applies to Kohler faucets installed within the United States.
In addition, the Company warrants that the taps themselves or all other aspects of the accessories are free from defects in material and workmanship. Again, this is under the provisions of normal residential use, provided the original purchaser owns the home. This part of the warranty does not cover specific tap finishes, including gold, non-Vibrant, and non-chrome.
The policy states that improper care and cleaning will void the warranty. The warranty does not cover misuse, abuse, and accidents.
To make the claims process easier, in the event of a claim, you can complete registration of the product with Kohler at the time of purchase. Please note that you will need the original proof of purchase to open a warranty claim.
What About In A Commercial Environment?
For taps installed in a commercial environment, the warranty period is completely different. While the warranty period for residential taps is generous, the commercial warranty period is far less so. Kohler states that if the faucet is used for commercial purposes, it is guaranteed against defects in workmanship and materials for a period of one year after the initial installation of the product.
This guarantee is within Kohler’s standard one-year limited warranty period. The same warranty applies to faucets with specific finishes, such as the exclusions to the warranty for general residential use mentioned above by the company. Therefore, if you have a gold, non-Vibrant, or non-chrome finish tap, the warranty is much stricter than for other finishes.
How Long Do Kohler Taps Last?
Most modern taps can easily last between 15 and 30 years, although there are various factors that may affect their lifespan. With proper care, a Kohler tap can last for decades.
However, as it ages and the components wear out, there are bound to be some problems, especially if you have hard water, which will accelerate the corrosion of the internal parts. For example, hard water can build up and corrode washers or valve seats, which can lead to leaking taps. While this is an easy problem to fix, if you have hard water you may end up dealing with it fairly often.
